Vegan Holiday Food Gifts

Kale Chips and Vegan Chocolate Bark

Are you getting ready for the holidays? This year is so different. There is so much to sort out and think about. I am working on the menu for the upcoming THANKSLIVING 2020 course and thought I add a post about making your own holiday food gifts as part of that journey and then decided to share it with everyone.

Kale Chips

  • Create a spice blend your love – I use cumin, lemon, olive oil, nutritional yeast and salt
  • Massage this mixture onto the kale
  • Cook on 325F for 8-12 min until cooked and crispy.

Vegan Chocolate Bark

So so so much easier than I thought it would be!

Melt chocolate chips. Spread onto silicone baking sheet or parchment paper and viola!! You can add a little coconut oil. And be sure to read the label with regards to the added diary. I found vegan chips which were wonderful.

I loved using edible flowers in the one I made in the video. I used calendula, lavender, and rose. Let it cool and break apart.

Chocolate is such a complex and wonderful food. Check out this wonderful blog post on chocolate from a dear friend, Dr. Sharma. Lots of great info here.

Thanksliving Event

Right before the COVID outbreak, I was planning to partner with a local group to start sharing culinary medicine principles here in Phoenix at an educational center. Therefore, I had to put those plans on hold like so many of us. However, it did create time for me to pivot online and then share with a wider group of people who are interested in learning more about the HOW of creating a plant-based kitchen.

This year, I will be hosting a “thanksliving” cook along celebration the week of thanksgiving. This event was created for people looking for something new to bring into their life this year and help with streamlining the process.

Potato Ricer

This gadget is usually under $20 and filled with so much value for making the best mashed potatoes. A worthy investment for your plant-based kitchen.
