Grilled or broiled herbed artichoke appetizer can be very expensive when eating out however it is oh so good! Here is way to make this at home and this recipe is a feast for the senses. Grilled or Broiled Artichokes are a staple in our home and once you see how easy they are to make, you may add them to upcoming seasonal meals as they are pricy out of season.
You can cook ahead and steam the artichokes and grill/broil them later. The spices add the most amazing flavor and when done, the grilled herbed artichokes are great with french bread.

Hope over here to see my favorite double boiler inset to make cooking them easier. I have found that the double boiler is one of the true staples in my kitchen. There are different ways of how they exist however, I have had this same all clad set up for over 30 years. Some pot so they nearly will last a lifetime and plus. It is possible to cook them entirely on the grill or oven though I have found that steaming them first gives just the right amount of tenderness to the artichoke heart.
